YouTube, Patreon Announcement and Release Schedule 2023

I've spent a long time thinking about how to add value to every tier and any level of support is greatly appreciated. I realize that all of these ideas look like vaporware on the first few weeks so I've put together this announcement of my upcoming releases so you can get an idea of what's around the corner. 

Studio Albums 

"43", my premiere double disc album is in a limited preorder at this time via my website, www.steveimprovises.com/43preorder . Full release on streaming platforms will be around April 2023.

Some videos will come out on YouTube in March once there’s more 

I have a second 43rd year album that will come out around Q3 2023

I plan to record and livestream a third album in either a studio or local venue on 3/29/23, World Piano Day.

I plan to give a performance around my birthday in May 2023, which will also be livestreamed and recorded for release in Q4 2023.

Home Studio Improvisations 

I have a backlog of about 6 hours of music recorded in 2021-2022 that I will be releasing over the next few months. 

The videos will be released weekly on YouTube with the audio available on Patreon (Hexagonal Vortex and up), Steveimprovises.com and Bandcamp.

previews of upcoming releases will be available as a special bonus for the Dodecaphonic tiers and up. These may be as much as 3 months in advance of release.  

I will be releasing an ambient focused album from home studio recordings in late 2022, including another, longer track from the same session as Blizzard From Within, plus two more 20+minute pieces.

I continue to make multicam recordings at my home studio at least once a week so there will always be more content in my editing pipeline.

Weekly streaming and highlights

I will be streaming a few times a week on Twitch. These informal performances are like improvisational etudes, sessions where I explore new techniques and ideas but with less emphasis on creating completed works. Stay tuned for a news post with scheduled timeslots. 

A lot of these sessions will focus on a more ambient style.

I will be releasing highlight videos of these experiments twice a month, with only 2 cameras and 1080p rather than my usual 6x 4k camera setup. The highlights will be posted on ny twitch channel, YouTube and a no ads version will be added for all Patreon members. 

Music Theory Videos & Courses

I have several videos planned about some unique music theory that I use in my playing, such as the Hexagonal Vortex. These will be released on YouTube.

I am also developing larger scale educational content based on these ideas that will go into more depth than the overview videos.

Patreon members will receive discount codes for these products. 

Archival Music

I have 5 concerts and nearly 90 hours of additional music that I will be restoring and releasing over the course of 2023 and beyond. 

Several Hours of this music will be added in its original, unrestored cassette quality on my premium Patreon tiers. 

I plan to first release a highlights album of the most memorable tracks from this period, then release restorations of each recital, then further recordings. 

Transcriptions of Improvisations

Transcriptions of my top 4 pieces from 43 are available on my website either separately for $10 each or as a discounted bundle for $25. 

I have started a Preludes project for 2023 and intend to release 1-2 scores per month. 3 scores are currently in the works. If there is interest I might add these scores to one of the Patreon tiers.  

Transcriptions will also be available of some of my archival content once those are ready for release. 

If you’re interested in transcriptions of my longer works, please let me know via video or post comments. I take top down video of all of my performances so that I can transcribe them easier but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s easy to do. I hope in the future to be able to afford a Yamaha or Bösendorfer Disklavier to help simplify this process.
